PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: October 2025
Toronto Tea Tours Inc. (“High Sociétéa,” “we”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable laws.
1. Information We Collect
When you book a trip with us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, payment
information, party size, and your selected menu option, which may be Traditional, Vegan, or Gluten-Free. We also collect any communications you send us, including emails, contact form submissions, or social media messages.
If you submit media such as photos or reviews, please ensure any embedded location data is
removed if you do not wish to share it. Our website uses cookies and analytics tools, including anonymized statistics through services such as Google Analytics. Embedded third-party content, such as YouTube or Instagram videos, may collect their own data in accordance with their
privacy policies.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal information to process bookings, accept payments, and send confirmations or updates about your trip. We also use it to respond to inquiries and customer support requests, to personalize and improve our site and services, and to send marketing emails if you have opted in. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. We also use your information to maintain safety and operational efficiency during your trip.
3. Sharing & Disclosure
We share your data with trusted service providers who help us operate our business. This
includes payment processors, website hosting and development providers, marketing and email platforms, and analytics tools. We may share relevant details, such as passenger lists and menu selections, with Urban Inc. and catering partners to ensure your trip is delivered effectively.
We may disclose personal information if required by law or legal process. In the event of a business transfer, such as a sale or reorganization of our company, your information may be transferred to the new owners or operators. We do not sell or rent personal data.
4. Data Retention
We retain booking and transaction records for up to ten years for tax and audit purposes. Customer service emails are kept for up to one year unless they must be retained longer to resolve an issue. Comments or reviews remain until you request deletion. Marketing lists are maintained until you unsubscribe. Backups are deleted on rolling cycles in line with our data management practices.
5. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and similar privacy laws, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, withdraw consent such as unsubscribing from marketing, and request deletion of your data unless we are legally required to retain it.
If you have unresolved concerns, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. To exercise your rights, please contact us at privacy@highsocietea.ca. We may request verification of your identity before fulfilling your request.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data, including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and the use of vetted service providers. However, no system is one hundred percent secure, and you share information with us at your own risk.
7. International Guests
Your data may be stored or processed in Canada and other countries, including the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your home country. We implement contractual and technical safeguards to help protect your information when it is transferred internationally.
8. Marketing Communications
We will only send you promotional or marketing emails if you have given your consent. You can
unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in our marketing emails or by contacting us directly. Service-related emails, such as booking confirmations, will still be sent even if you opt out of marketing communications.
9. Photography & Media
By participating in a trip, you consent to appearing in our marketing photos and videos. If you would prefer not to appear, please inform our staff before or during boarding, and we will make reasonable efforts to exclude you. You may also request the removal of identifiable images featuring you by emailing us at privacy@highsocietea.ca.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. If the changes are material, we may also notify you by email or other appropriate means.
